Overview
This article is for any Lever360 mobile app user who takes and uploads job site photos, including field technicians, project managers, and admins. It explains the Phone and Cloud icons that show whether a photo is still stored only on your device or has been fully uploaded and synced to Lever360, and where to check upload status if photos aren't appearing as expected.
Understanding the Photo Sync Icons
Phone Icon vs. Cloud Icon
Every photo you take in the Lever360 mobile app displays a small status indicator on its thumbnail. This indicator tells you whether the photo has finished uploading to Lever360's back end (the servers that store and process your data) or is still waiting on your device.
Phone icon — The photo is currently stored only on your device and has not yet been uploaded to Lever360.
Cloud icon — The photo has been fully uploaded and synced to Lever360's servers.
Checking and Forcing Photo Uploads
Step 1 — Open Upload Media Settings
To check whether your photos are uploading, navigate to Upload Media. Tap More (on the far right of the bottom menu), then tap Settings, then tap Upload Media.
Step 2 — Review Your Photos' Upload Status
The Upload Media screen lists every photo on your device along with its sync indicator (Phone or Cloud). Use this screen to see at a glance which photos are still waiting to upload and which have already synced to Lever360.
Step 3 — Force a Sync
If photos aren't uploading automatically, or you want to start the upload right away, tap Force Sync on the Upload Media screen. This begins uploading your device's photos to Lever360 one at a time. As each photo finishes uploading, its indicator changes from a Phone icon to a Cloud icon.
What to Expect After Uploading
A Cloud icon means the photo has finished uploading, but it does not mean the photo is immediately visible on the Lever360 website. After a photo is fully uploaded, it goes through a brief processing step on the back end before it appears online.
Processing usually takes 2-3 minutes, depending on how many photos were uploaded at once.
Do not expect photos to appear on the website immediately after their icon changes to a Cloud — a short delay is normal.
If a photo still hasn't appeared after several minutes, return to the Upload Media screen to confirm its icon has actually changed to Cloud.
💡 Tip. Uploading a large batch of photos at once extends processing time proportionally, so allow extra time before checking the website when syncing many images.
