Connecting Lever360 to Claude (Early Access)

Connect Lever360 to Claude with a personal MCP token so you can ask about jobs, contacts, invoices and equipment in plain English, and let Claude handle a few routine actions for you.

Overview

Lever360 connects to Claude, so you can ask about your jobs, contacts, invoices and equipment in plain English and have Claude handle a few routine actions for you. Setup takes four steps and about five minutes, and you only do it once. It works in Claude on the web, in the desktop app, in Cowork and on mobile.

This is an early-access release for teams comfortable setting up AI tools. The full launch is coming.

IMPORTANT: You need to be in your company's MCP Access user group before you can create a token. If you don't see an MCP Tokens section in User Settings, ask your Lever360 administrator to add you (see Setting Up MCP Access for Your Team), then reload the page.

How to Connect Lever360 to Claude

Step 1 — Create Your Token in Lever360

Your token identifies you to Claude. It's personal to you and is shown only once.

1. Click the gear icon at the bottom of the left sidebar, next to My Learning, then open User Settings.

2. Scroll to the MCP Tokens section and click Create Token.

3. Name the token after the computer or device you'll use it from, for example Laptop, and confirm. An expiry date is optional; leave it empty unless your company requires tokens to be rotated.

4. Copy the token right away. It starts with mcp- and is never shown again.

💡 Lost your token? Lever360 keeps only a fingerprint of it, so it can't be looked up later. Just create a new one and revoke the old one.

IMPORTANT: Treat your token like a password. Don't paste it into a chat message, a support ticket or a screenshot. You can revoke it at any time from User Settings → MCP Tokens, and it stops working immediately.

Step 2 — Open the Connector Form in Claude

This is done in Claude's settings screen, not by asking Claude in a chat.

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.

  2. Click Add custom connector.

  3. Enter the name Lever360 and the address https://mcp.lever360.com/mcp, then continue.

💡 Don't see Add custom connector? Your Claude account belongs to an organization, and only the organization owner can add connectors. The owner goes to Settings → Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom and chooses Web.

IMPORTANT: Before you go further, check that the form has a Request headers section. Claude is rolling it out gradually, so it isn't on every account yet. Without it the connector can't be set up; email [email protected] and we'll let you know when it's available.

Step 3 — Fill In the Connector Form

Enter these values exactly:

  1. Name — Lever360

  2. MCP server URL — https://mcp.lever360.com/mcp

  3. Authentication — No sign-in

  4. Header name — authorization

  5. Header value — the word Bearer, a space, then your token (for example Bearer mcp-1a2b3c...)

  6. Required — Yes

Click Add to finish.

IMPORTANT: These two fields are where most setups go wrong. Authentication must be set to No sign-in; the other options start a sign-in flow Lever360 doesn't use yet. The Header value must begin with Bearer and a space. It's sent exactly as typed, so Bearer mcp-1a2b... works and mcp-1a2b... on its own does not.

On an organization account, once the owner adds the connector, everyone else opens Settings → Connectors and clicks Connect on Lever360 once.

Step 4 — Switch It On in a Conversation

Connectors are turned on per conversation. In a new chat, click + at the bottom left, open Connectors, and turn on Lever360. Then ask your first question.

Good questions to start with:

  • "Summarize my open jobs and what each one is waiting on."

  • "Which invoices are still unpaid, and how long have they been outstanding?"

  • "Find the contact and the recent notes for this job."

What Claude Can Do

Here's a quick summary. For the full, current list of tools, see Lever360 MCP Capabilities.

Look Things Up

Claude can read jobs, tasks, rooms, equipment, contacts, companies, notes, appointments and forms for signature, plus finance records: invoices, payments, credit memos, estimates, purchase orders, revenue items and sales taxes.

Take Action

Claude can also handle a short list of actions for you:

  • Create a job

  • Create a company

  • Create an appointment

  • Update an appointment

  • Change a job's status

💡 Review before you approve. Read what Claude is about to create or change before you let it go ahead. Actions show up in Lever360 like any other change, under your name.

Your Token and Your Permissions

  • Scope — Claude can reach only the functions set on your MCP user group. Your regular portal user groups don't change what Claude sees. Access is checked on every request, company by company.

  • How many — Up to five tokens at once. Use one per computer or device, so revoking one doesn't affect the others.

  • Expiry — Only if you set one. Left empty, a token stays valid until you revoke it.

IMPORTANT: On a Claude organization account, one token is shared by everyone, and they all act as the Lever360 user who owns that token. Create the token from a Lever360 account set up for this purpose, not from a real person's login.

Troubleshooting

  1. "Not authorized" or 401 — The token is wrong, revoked or expired, or the header value is missing the Bearer prefix.

  2. Changing the token later — The authentication on a connector can't be edited once it's added. Remove the Lever360 connector and add it again with the new token. On an organization account, everyone reconnects afterward.

  3. Claude can't see something — Claude can only reach the functions set on your MCP user group. If a whole area is missing, ask your administrator to add that function to your MCP group (see Setting Up MCP Access for Your Team).

  4. Turning access off — Revoke the token in Lever360 under User Settings → MCP Tokens. It stops working immediately.
