Adding a Barcode to Existing Equipment

This article is for employees and admins who manage equipment in Lever360. It explains how to add a barcode to a piece of equipment that has already been saved in your system by scanning the barcode from the equipment record. Adding a barcode lets you quickly identify and pull up that item later by scanning instead of searching manually.

How to Add a Barcode to Existing Equipment

Follow these steps to scan and attach a barcode to a piece of equipment that is already saved in your system.

Step 1 — Open the Equipment Menu

From the bottom menu on the right, tap More, then select Equipment. This opens the list of equipment saved in your system.

Step 2 — Select the Equipment Item

In the equipment list, tap the item you want to add a barcode to. For example, select Airmover 1 to open that equipment's record.

Step 3 — Edit the Equipment Record

On the equipment screen, tap Edit in the top corner to make the record editable.

Step 4 — Scan the Barcode

Tap Scan and scan the barcode on the equipment. Lever360 will read and add any information stored behind that barcode to the equipment record.

Step 5 — Save the Equipment

Tap Save in the top right-hand corner to attach the barcode to the equipment. The equipment record (for example, Airmover 1) will now display the barcode you scanned.

What to Expect

After saving, the barcode is permanently linked to that piece of equipment. You can expect the following:

• The equipment record now shows the scanned barcode on its detail screen.

• Any information stored behind the barcode is added to the equipment record during the scan.

• You can scan the barcode in the future to quickly locate that item instead of searching for it manually.

💡 Tip. Make sure the barcode is clean and well-lit before scanning so the camera can read it on the first try.
